Hey folks,

A lot has happened since we last spoke, both positive and negative – but it’s all part of the ride of owning a small business; I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Firstly, thank you for the overwhelming support during July after someone broke in and invaded the space that I’ve worked so hard on. I’m pleased to say that someone has been charged and I’m looking forward to seeing the outcome. It took us a good week and a half to get back to where we were prior, so things are a little behind.

On a more positive note, last Saturday (4 September) we attended the Central Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Awards Night. I was super proud to take home the award for Excellence in Manufacturing and Trade. This award is so important to me as my skills were recognised in what is normally a building and construction dominated category. Jewellers are a trade too – we do a four-year apprenticeship like any other trade.

In other news, Sarah has joined NVJ full time, so we are now able to open more often! This is something I’ve been aiming for since the permanent shop became a reality, but I couldn’t do it alone with the commitments that I have to my family. We are now open Tuesday to Friday 10 am to 5 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 1 pm.

I’ve now closed my books until next year. It’s scary saying that, but I’m continuing to implement a healthy work-life balance, and that means taking on less custom work. If you’d like to know when bookings will be open again, please sign up to the mailing list. We’ll be in touch in the new year about dates.

New stock is hitting the shop and website weekly- this will continue right up until Christmas and does include some made to order items Please see this blog post for important information about Christmas Orders.

The Venus Range is continuing to develop. It has taken longer than I first anticipated, but I hope to launch this collection officially very soon. Rest assured it will be an amazing homage to Tasmania once complete.

I’ve also been getting more and more enquiries about Tasmanian stones such as Sapphire and Spinel. This is something I’ve been wanting to work on for such a long time, so I am really pleased that you are trusting me to source some unique stones.

It’s always a whirlwind here, with even more exciting things coming in 2022 – they are so exciting that we cannot even reveal them yet! Stay tuned

That’s all for now
Nicole xo
