From the very beginning, I knew this collection was never just about jewellery, it was about grief, growth, longing and connection. About the quiet moments that shape us into who we are.
Inspired by the vast outback landscape of North West Queensland, the Heartlands collection has almost subconsciously been in the works for years with Nicole slowly collecting stones from her home town of Cloncurry and surrounding areas. After a visit back home in 2025 after years away, Nicole was in awe of how the scenery had changed from arid and dry to lush and full of life.
She started visualising pieces that turned into stunning creations with the colours of the sky, the lightning storm nights and the lush fauna. Each piece she created has been from the heart rather than being aesthetically selected. Spending many late nights in her studio bringing her grief and love into physical pieces.
I, myself have never been to Outback Queensland, but by working closely with Nicole as she created this collection, I can feel it. I can feel the emotion, the meaning, the connection all through her art. It has been so amazing to watch how her hands can create what her heart feels. Nicole has created a collection of heartfelt pieces that are made to be worn every day, pieces that aren’t just beautiful to wear but meaningful to own.
The week of the Heartlands launch, I was in the studio shooting content when Nicole handed me a ring that she had completed called ‘The Heartlands Ring’, it was literally named after the whole collection, and I instantly fell in love. A stunning lab grown deep red ruby shaped in a heart, set into a textured polished sterling silver band. I took content videos and website photos and kept my cool but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Fast forward to launch day, I knew it would be coming home with me, I could feel it calling to me, I could feel the deep emotion that went into making this piece.
Thankfully, Nicole was honoured to have me purchase it and I haven’t taken it off since.
The Heartlands collection will always share a special place in my heart and I know for sure and for many deeper reasons, Nicoles heart too. I am so grateful to have been part of this chapter and I welcome you to enjoy the collection and I’m honoured to share it with you too.
