Most Sapphires in Tasmania are alluvial, meaning that they are found in sediments in rivers and streams. Zircon and Black Spinel are also generally found in the same areas as Sapphires. Most Tasmanian Sapphires are small, and tend to be a dark blue colour, but other colours can be found, including Parti Sapphires.
This Sapphire has nice olive colouration on the sides from certain angles, leaning into a grey-blue in the centre of the stone.
This stone is suitable for wearing often, and would suit a ring or necklace. Don't forget to book a consult with Nicole here so she can bring your ideas for this stone to life!
